Privacy Policy

Shipwright is operated by Cleer Consulting Pty Ltd (ABN-registered company, Sydney, Australia). This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

The short version: we collect your email if you sign up for the waitlist, and anonymous analytics to understand how the site is used. We do not collect or store your source code.

What we collect

Email address

If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address. This is stored in Google Cloud Firestore. We use it to send you product updates and beta access invitations.

Anonymous analytics

We use PostHog for product analytics. PostHog collects usage data such as page views, referrers, and device type. PostHog sets a first-party cookie to distinguish unique visitors but does not track users across sites.

What we do not collect

Your source code

In CLI-Connected mode (the default), Shipwright runs entirely on your machine. Your code, your PRDs, and your build outputs never leave your local environment.

Managed mode

When we launch Managed mode, builds will run in isolated containers on Google Cloud. Each container is destroyed after the run completes. We do not retain your source code, build artifacts, or intermediate outputs.

Cookies

PostHog sets a first-party cookie to identify unique visitors across sessions. This cookie is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. We may also use a preview gate cookie for internal testing.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

  • --Cloudflare for hosting (Workers)
  • --PostHog for product analytics
  • --Google Cloud (Firestore) for storing waitlist email addresses

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties.

How we use your data

  • --To send you product updates and beta access invitations
  • --To understand how the site is used and improve the service

Data retention

We keep your email address until you ask us to remove it. If you unsubscribe or request deletion, we will remove your email from our systems promptly.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Email luke@cleerconsulting.com and we will handle it within a reasonable timeframe.

Australian Privacy Act

Cleer Consulting Pty Ltd complies with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) to the extent they apply to our operations. As a small business, we may not be legally required to comply with all APPs, but we choose to handle your data responsibly regardless.

International users

Shipwright is based in Australia and does not specifically target users in the European Union. However, if you are located in the EU or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, we will honor requests to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Your data may be processed in Australia and the United States (via our third-party service providers).

Children

Shipwright is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to check back periodically.
